Can someone explain me how utilities work in Latvia ? I’m a foreign student here and it seems within 1 month utilities shot up 2x ! !

    You should inquire what the “komunālie pakalpojumi” row includes, my guess – heating, water, water heating). Ask for a break down

    Most likely, October had heating and that’s the difference.

    What’s the size of your apartment, as this utility bill seems absurd for anything under 80sqm… absurd in general even…

    Noticed the electricity usage – What the fuck are you doing, mining bitcoin? In-house electric sauna?? 460 kWh on what?! Normal usage is around 100.

    Edit – noticed the size is 65sqm, yep, ask for a break down as neither the electricity usage is reasonable and neither is the “komunālie pakalpojumi”

  3. Because heating. Welcome to Latvia. Heating for me this month was 70 Euros, that is for 40sq.m. apartment. It will only get more expensive.

    The utilities shot up because of heating season starting. The sum seems OK, can vary depending on where you live, how big the space is, what kind of heating.

    I agree with the other commenter that it doesn’t have enough details. There is a position that’s just “utilities” (komunālie pakalpojumi) with no explanation and at the bottom it says something about a currency conversion between EUR and EUR… What drunk retard made this… I guess one that didn’t expect you’d even ask someone to translate the bill for you…
