If they re-enlist they get to keep it though, right? Unless they are a part of a commando unit I guess.
See why you can’t defy china, they are literally in your pants.
Used underwear will help Norway weather the storm??
How can Norway even conceivably be unable to source underwear?
If you told me that they couldn’t get, I don’t know, a particular type of guided bombs, I could believe that. But it’s not like there’s one underwear manufacturer on the planet.
Your underwear isn’t even visible, so even use of mismatched or *ad hoc* uniform components — not unknown in historical wars — shouldn’t be an issue.
I mean, I can’t believe that they can’t just go to a major clothing retailer in Norway and say “we need a few thousand pairs of underwear” issue those to the recruits at Camp Whatever, and then phase them out when their regular supplies become available again.
Or if it’s totally unacceptable to wear civilian stuff, borrow some from some other military. I can’t believe that mil-spec Norwegian underwear is that much higher grade than Spanish mil-spec underwear or that every military in NATO is down to its last bra.
Umm… of course? Or how do they manage laundry services in the norwegian army? In Finland we just brought our boxers (along with other clothes) to the laundry and we chugged the dirty clothes into a bin and got fresh ones at the end of the line. Boxers weren’t considered (and still probably aren’t considered) personal gear that never changes.
Same goes for t-shirts, thermal underwear, socks, jackets, trouters and so on. Absolutely everything was returned at the end of service (and swapped at the laundry).
Or does Norway really waste money on buying fresh pairs of underwear for every single conscript that enters service instead of just washing them?
