What’s the worst thing about Britain?

  1. Our complete loss of community and national identity, being ran by the Torys for so long I can’t remember worse times and the Weather, the weather is shite

  2. Being too lenient and letting the uk slowly drown because all the politicians are too scared to upset either side of any argument

  3. Capitalism. Not in principal, but in practice. It’s all about power and money. The government doesn’t represent us any more, it’s all about big business. We are being failed at every turn and it’s simple greed feeding the machine. From water companies’ years of under investment, paying their shareholders huge dividends, to the NHS being systematically torn apart with rabid pharmaceutical companies screaming for privatisation. PPE Contracts, HS2, inflation, interest rates. All focused on taking as much money from the general public as possible. Don’t get me started on ULEZ. Conservative or labour, doesn’t matter. They’re all in the pocket of big business. They’re systematically removing our rights to protest and we’re just sitting here watching them do it. Capitalism first, with complacency a very close second…

  4. As a minority who grew up in the UK, this is my point of view – Forcing fake multiracial images on TV and advert. The desperate and excess disproportionate use of minority in order to satisfy themselves and make them feel like they have “done something” and solved the actual problem of racism but in actual fact they are just using minority to sell more shit. I moved to the UK because I love the British culture and people and sometime quite frankly I feel like I’m in the Middle East.

  5. Everything being a bit shit.

Obviously no one thing is, relatively speaking. We don’t have cartel kidnappings or war or monsoons or deadly wildlife. But nothing stands out as exceptional or something to be proud off and all together it becomes a death by a thousand cuts. And the knowledge that you KNOW your grandparents had a better life than you ever will.

And having thousands of years of history isn’t worth much in practical terms.

We’ve lost all sense of social identity which isn’t awkwardly connected to a long-dead ‘soft power’ empire the vast majority of our ancestors never benefited from or had any role in and yet feel gravely responsible for.

And no pop culture and music and film is not culture. It’s just noise.

  6. Only getting 25% discount on council tax for single occupancy and/or having to pay tax when you’re not even earning enough to live in a one bed flat.
