Well, Russia has no culture, so Russia being part of UNESCO makes no sense anyway.
International recognition, such as seat in prestigious UN bodies or participation in the Olympics, is sometimes highly sought by dictator Putin, since this let him show how Russia can still dominante the world.
That’s not longer the case. Russia regime is rightly view a cheating and killing machine by majority of the world countries, this must be so humiliating to Putin. In reality Russia is just a simple gas station losing it’s clients and with no future prospect.
Bombing UNESCO heritage sites does tend to have that effect.
