  1. If this doesn’t convince people to stop flying then nothing will.

  2. Oh no, anything but the glass case!

Let’s get real, the stone is likely an abbey cistern—the real stone was lost hundreds of years ago. People are going to get all frothy over this anyway though.

  3. “The group, which is calling for an end to oil and gas deals, said it carried out the vandalism to pressure supermarkets into reducing the prices of baby products, and called on the Scottish Government to fund a community food hub for 500 people. ”

And vandalising a museum achieves this … how?

Call me crazy, but wouldn’t a better option be to target the CEO of said supermarkets–picket outside his house or graffit his Bentley or something.

  4. Yeah because Edinburgh castle is the cause of global warming … idiots

  5. Time for everyone to consider that like most environmental groups in the past this one has been infiltrated by the police or fossil fuel companies etc.

  6. I’m becoming more and more convinced the oil companies are behind this in order to make meaningful action on climate change politically untenable.

  7. Another act of idiocy from the eco fanatics. They are so stupid and blinded by their beliefs that they can’t see that they are actually doing more harm to their cause than good.

  8. This is why the Green party has only 1 MP. These people are nuts! Even Greta supports Hamas now.

  9. Stop breaking stuff and go to the source of the problem. The rich CEOs, the companies themselves, make a real mark, stop pissing off Joe Public because it’s not, sadly, helping your case.

  10. The crazy thing about all of these eco warriors is that most of us somewhat agree with what they’re trying to promote. It’s not lost on most of us that climate change is a very real thing and it’s getting considerably worse and there are probably things we could all do differently to help do our part in making things better. HOWEVER, the way in which they go about their activism almost makes me want to root against them. Like, you don’t want to see them succeed because of how fucking annoying they are so we kinda just turn a blind eye. They’re really not having the desired effect, it’s actually having the complete opposite effect. People think about climate change and oil and they automatically think about these wet wipes.

  11. ‘The Oil companies are behind it!!!’

No they aren’t that’s stupid, and it’s the same tired argument everyone makes, the reality is these groups just hit big, *public* targets because that is what makes them and their aims hit the news, look now you’re hearing about it.

Picketing outside a CEO’s house, or standing outside an oil tanker is something these groups already do and it gets 0 press. This is the stuff that gets them and their message into the papers, that’s why they do it.
