  1. This is also what is said in article:

    > Xi was trying to indicate that China is not preparing for a massive invasion of Taiwan, but that does not change the U.S. approach, the official said

So it seems, at least in my opinion, neither side wants military conflict over Taiwan, but I know nothing about geopolitics so I could be wrong.

  2. Taiwan won’t be an issue if you don’t try to invade it, Xi.

  3. Don’t worry everyone. With the amount of weapons everyone is making, I’m sure peace is right around the corner.

  4. It’s interesting to see Xi’s statement aiming to downplay the likelihood of a massive invasion of Taiwan. However, it’s understandable why the U.S. isn’t altering its approach. It’s likely that U.S. intelligence has more detailed information that we’re not privy to.

  5. To which Biden replied, “Dangerous for you, bro. Now shut up and pass the salt”.

  6. China: “You wouldn’t die for some Island”
    US Navy: “Someone is”

  7. Only dangerous so long as Xi lust Taiwan’s technology assets and divert Chinese people away from mounting domestic issues.

  8. Biden is getting steamrolled and he doesn’t even know it. China has seen the weakness of their Allie’s they chose to oppose the US with and have pivoted. Really interested to see how the next 4 years go…

  9. Don’t attack Taiwan we good my homie

Oh and stop sending your shitty drugs in the mail like wtf man

  10. Honestly this is probably a good sign, Taiwan has been the most importsnt thing for China since the beginning so at least we know there hasn’t been any changes.

  11. When China invades Taiwan the equities markets will take the biggest shit kicking since 1929. Hopefully it won’t happen until 2026 when more of the new US based chip plants are fully operational and companies have had more time to move production to countries China is afraid to invade. It will really suck for the whole planet but at least it will permanently ruin China so we will no longer need to worry about them taking over the world anymore. It’s wild how close they came to going from dirt poor to king of the hill. I wonder how many millions of Chinese will starve to death – in the 60s their dictatorship managed to kill off 30,000,000 people from starvation – with urbanization it could be 100,000,000.

  12. The US/Taiwan need to negotiate with Taiwan. Like make the same deal that was made with Hong Kong but instead have it go in perpetuity. Taiwan remains self governing democratic province but is technically considered part of China. I know its not ideal but if you dont give , you dont get. If they can negotiate this , then Taiwanese will be spared from certain mass deaths like the such of Gaza and Ukraine. Its not a question of if China is going to attack Taiwan, its a question of when.

A chance to nip it in the bud before it happens

  13. After Taiwan – “South China Sea is the biggest most dangerous issue in bilateral ties”

After SCS – “Senkaku islands is the biggest most dangerous issue in bilateral ties”

After that – “India ocean is the biggest list dangerous issue in bilateral ties”

Never give an single inch to the CCP

  14. That’s always been the stickler.

For those that don’t know, Taiwan was established after WW2 after the Nationalist Kuomintang government of China fled to the island after it was returned by Japan. As the Communists secured their authority on the mainland, an invasion of the island was only prevented by US intervention.

Ever since, this echo of the Chinese Civil War has remained a thorn in Beijing’s side, its official title being the Republic of China and holding the UN Security Council position of China until 1971.

  15. And after Taiwan has been conquered, it’s Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. After them it’s Korea and Japan.

Dictators will not stop unless they are stopped.

  16. Then just hand it over to a 3rd party – like russia.

    I will see myself out….

  17. China already demonstrated how dangerous they are when left resolving similar “issue” alone. Honk Kong went from one of the prosperous place on earth to a wasteland in a few years, and mainland China did 100% of the work.

Good job Mr Xi… I’m sure everyone around the world is going to cheer over this display and give you 100% support <——- yes this is a sarcasm

  18. Now Earth is not big enough. I want tiny Island nation in my territory color.

  19. Can someone with a better insight into China explain why instead of forcibly annexing Taiwan, China cannot instead just…NOT do it?

Is it all about national prestige, or is there some aspect of it I’m missing?

  20. Oh I haven’t heard that Taiwan will evade China? What is the danger?

  21. Can you ask him to stop sending over invasive species that are decimating our land and wildlife?

  22. It’s weird how it’s always the neighbor quietly minding there own business that is a terrible threat.
