Marc Overmars has been suspended by the Institue of Sports Law for a year for transgressive behaviour. Plus a conditional suspension of 1 year, with a probationary period of 2 years. This suspension is only valid for NL, so has no effect on his job at Antwerp.

  1. Marc Overmars has been suspended for a year for transgressive behaviour. In addition, there is a conditional suspension of one year, with a probationary period of two years. This can be read in the ruling of the Institute of Sports Law (ISR).

The ISR concludes that during his period as director of football affairs at Ajax, Overmars did not comply with the rule that he ‘refrains from sexual intimacy through any means of communication’ and thus violated the Sexual Harassment regulations.

The suspension means that he may not hold a position within the KNVB football association or with organisations affiliated with the KNVB for a year. Overmars can therefore continue to carry out his work in Belgium. A few weeks after his resignation at Ajax, he started working as technical director at Antwerp, Belgium.

  2. Prima.
