  1. I guess it must have been a letdown for those who thought there would be some real action from the UN or anyone else. All we seem to get are fancy words, resolutions, and leaders talking big for their own people, just to hide the fact that they can’t actually do anything.

  2. That resolution isn’t worth the paper it was written on. It’s not like the people in Gaza wouldn’t need help asap but you can’t stop an ongoing war when both sides (Hamas and IDF) made clear that the other one has to die first.
It’s good, that at least this time we see no veto, but the writing is so soft that there’s literally nothing worth of vetoing against. Oof.

  3. If the UN can’t condemn a terrorist organisation that has slaughtered 1,000+ innocent civilians (and literally proudly recorded their barbarian actions) in a matter of mere hours then it has no legitimacy whatsoever.

  4. >Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian ambassador, expressed his disappointment over its failure to demand a cease-fire

Literally just release the hostages and you’ll get your ceasefire. Hamas is so committed to disregarding international law that they will do so even if it harms themselves

  5. The way security council is structured it will always remain toothless and ineffective. One opposing vote from one of five permanent members is all it take to derail any resolution or action.

  6. lol UN is a joke. Demand the hostages be released and Hamas demilitarized / de-weaponized.

  7. Shocker among reddit when the world is split on the conflict on blame. And can’t pass a resolution to Israel’s benefit only. Ceasefire and hostage return is a middle ground.

  8. “HAMAS SUCKS AND CAN DIAF! But please give us back the hostages before you do, Hamas”

    That would undoutebly work.
