Damn, so we going to have to wait till Jesus comes back. Going to be a long long time.
Any estimates from people with more insight on how long this is suppose to last?
Iran just sold Palestine for 10 Billion dollars.
Good answer
I understand israel isn’t perfect, but they can’t be expected to endure attacks. At the same time leaving the gaza area in a bad situation is asking for an attack. Something needs to be done to fix the area. Ronald Reagan expressed his frustration over middle east politics for good reason. It’s a bunch of different groups not wanting to take responsibility and blaming each other. I support enforcing immigration in the US. I think cutting done asylum loop holes and remain in mexico was acceptable policy, but I remember at one point Lindsey Graham admitting that if we aren’t doing anything for the people that are migrating. If we aren’t helping their nations we can’t blame them for trying to come here.
Some of thr main points :
President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that Israel’s Gaza operation will last until Hamas no longer has the power to commit the types of atrocities witnessed on Oct. 7.
“I think it’s going to stop when Hamas no longer maintains the capacity to murder and abuse and just do horrific things to the Israelis. And they still think they—at least as of this morning, they still thought they could,” Biden said at a press conference in California following a meeting with China’s Xi Jinping.
“When Hamas said they plan on doing the same thing again—what they did on the 7th… they’re going to go in—they want to slaughter Israelis. They want to do it again. And they’ve said it out loud. They’re not even kidding about it. They’re not backing off.
“And so, I just asked the rhetorical question, ‘I wonder what we would do if that were the case?’” the president remarked.
The thing is, they won’t be able to just bomb their way into that happening. Hamas has deep roots in the Gulf. So long as Gaza is unstable, it will keep growing back. It will never be possible to fully eliminate the threat of Hamas attacks without stabilizing Gaza as part of a real state, with a real government that has actual funding for it. As a city of refugees, it is always going to be an enormous loss leader.
Gaza cannot stand alone. In geopolitics, they say that geography determines destiny, and the destiny of an overstuffed walled in refugee city is dependency. It can only really recover if it’s able to be economically integrated with the rest of Israel, or (as a long shot) if it’s got a constant stream of funding and a repatriation destination in a Palestinian West Bank.
But the Palestinian West Bank doesn’t exist anymore. They’re down to an archipelago of more than a hundred tiny disconnected enclaves. Most human rights groups and independent scholars believe it’s no longer even possible to make a Palestinian state – the logistical, legal, and political challenges have become impossible to overcome, requiring the mass displacement or abandonment of 700,000 people now to complete.
Israel has found itself the only government in Gaza and the West Bank. They won’t be safe from Palestinian radicalism in any year they don’t police them, because no one else is going to be able to. In a hundred years, the Palestinians will still be a major expense and social issue in Israel. It might be what they have to commit to now, but this is a dark end to a long road. The Israeli public is not going to be happy about where this has landed when it really sinks in that the two state solution is over.
for that Palestinians would have to be able to see a way out that doesn’t involve war. Even if every man woman and child with even a thought of terrorism was executed, it wouldn’t help the people believe in peace. It just feeds the circle of radicalization again where extremists will pop up again and again. it’s a complicated situation, admittedly, and needs to be solved peacefully
Sounds reasonable. But Hamas is willing to sacrifice tens of thousands of civilians till then as shields. Hamas has to go down.
I like Biden more every day.
When they are eliminated. They murdered not only Israelis, they kill citizens from many different countries, truly scums.
How do you get rid of Hamas without making new members every day?
Thank you Joe.
Pleasantly surprised by this
So basically never.
So basically this is going to be Israel’s version of the U.S iraq/afghanistan invasion. 20 years, hundreds of thousands of innocents killed, for little to nothing. Every civilian callously killed just creates a new insurgent.
But that’s ok so long as our defense companies can make a buck.
Dropping bombs on Hamas also kills civilians, killing civilians creates more radicals who join Hamas, Hamas attacks Israel again, dropping bombs on Hamas also kills civilians… it’s a circle of blood and death.
It’s heartbreaking to see the broken families on both sides.

Bombing will continue until morale improves.
