  1. “Turmoil”… we aren’t making cash hand over fist, just hand over hand… turmoil I tell you!!’ Its laughable after years of price gouging and profiteering, how will the dealers ever survive.

  2. Won’t someone please think about all those poor honest used car salesmen.

  3. Used car prices have been inflated for years especially when dumb people continue to buy and sell cars through intermediaries like Carvana and CarMax.

Just grow a pair and learn how to negotiate

  4. The used car market has always been a wave. Prices build until a year old used car is close enough to a new model that people start considering new instead. Then they fall until people start buying the one year used models again because they’re a much better deal. Rinse and repeat.

  5. Good good. Snap back to reality, opp there goes rabbit…

I’m looking forward to buying a hummer H2 for 10k again. Or a lucid air used for 35k one day soon.

  6. 40k used car with 70k miles / 8 years old – pass . I’ll wait to get an electric trunk hopefully they won’t be 80k

  7. Used cars were the biggest canary in the coal mine for inflation during COVID.

If they’re coming back down to earth, that is extremely good news.

  8. What, used car prices are now only up around 33% in the last 3 years instead of around 66%? God forbid at this rate they may some day return to *gasp* inflation adjusted historic norms.

  9. The media n the reporting side of things is tucked up. No one raised an alarm , in fact it’s celebrated, when used car prices go up 70-100% but they go down 3% and it’s “turmoil”

  10. Good. its absolutely stupid looking for a used car at the same price as a new car used to be four years ago.

  11. Well just look at the price in 2019 and the rate it was increasing before and compare it to the rate after. Even this “drop” is still massively above where it was in 2019 or what it should have been if it had continued to follow the trend.

Clearly overpriced and I don’t feel sad about this at all.

  12. Just in time, cause daddy needs an X5! …and isn’t going to pay $65k for it. 😅
