Hello r/Austria!

In a few weeks I will be traveling to Austria for 3 days from Hungary. Even though the official [corona information site](https://www.austria.info/en/service-and-facts/coronavirus-information/entry-regulations) gives detailed information about the current entry regulations, I am still not sure what exact rules apply to me. I got vaccinated with two shots of Sinopharm in 2021 May, then I got a booster shot of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) in October so that I could travel abroad.

The above mentioned site says that the Sinopharm vaccine is valid for entry (only), but if I got **two** additional booster jabs of EMA approved vaccines, I will obtain the “2-G” status. So if the J&J is a single dose vaccine, and I got it after two shots of Sinopharm, am I still eligible? What about the antibody test mentioned in the FAQ section, will I need one?

Any help and clarification is very much appreciated!

  1. The website says:

    >BioNtech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Covaxin, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Sinovac, and Sinopharm are valid for ENTERING Austria.

So you’ll be able to enter Austria but I’m not sure if J&J counts as a “proper” booster, so better bring a valid PCR test.

    >Please note: Only BioNtech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna are currently recognised for the “2-G” rule when in Austria.

Starting on January 3rd everyone who only got a single J&J jab loses their “vaccinated” status, unless they get the booster. The thing is: If, out of your 3 jabs, only the J&J one is recognised for 2G but it can’t be used on its own anymore, then you probably don’t qualify for 2G.

But then stuff could change within the next couple of weeks.
