Hi everyone, appreciate this is a long shot but I’m out of ideas. As the title says, I would love a Tabla player to play mainly on the dance floor, interacting with the guests and adding percussion over the top of the songs played by the DJ (see tiktok links below).
I am half Arabic but I don’t have much of a community or family here, so I don’t have links or know of anyone. I’ve had a look online but found the drummers are mostly dohl drummers or Indian tabla drummers (which are short drums that sit on the floor and are quite different to Arabic tabla which is held under the arm) for Indian weddings.
My wedding will be in London next summer. If anyone knows of any tabla players in London please let me know!

Contact the Musicians Union. They have a list of all their members and the instruments they play.
Try looking for Arabic musicians more generally, especially if playing as a group is common (apologies I don’t know much about this tradition) and they’re likely to have a table player, or they might be able to put you in touch with a mate.
