  1. Gee.. it’s almost like Right Wing Media is a danger to the nation.

  2. >Mr DePape … became obsessed with right-wing conspiracy theories … and seemingly embraced the dehumanizing language … that conservative pundits and politicians had used

That right there is what needs to be read over and over again when any minimizing of the recent use of terms like “vermin” is heard.

  3. It’s good that DePape will now go to prison for life. That’s sensible.

    >In the aftermath of the attack, Republican commentators and elected officials promoted more conspiracy theories about the beating, raising questions about male prostitution or simply suggesting that the official accounts of the attack were not the whole story. And some on the right have mocked the beating of an octogenarian in his own home, provoking laughs at campaign rallies.

    >At a rally on Saturday in New Hampshire, for example, former President J. Donald Trump called Ms. Pelosi a “crazed lunatic” to a crowd of supporters, and added: “What the hell was going on with her husband? Let’s not ask.”

The propagators of the conspiracy theories and stochastic terror continue to be immune to any consequences for their actions, apparently. I suppose their is one consequence: Being a leading candidate to win the 2024 presidential election.

    That’s not sensible.

  4. Anyone obsessed with Conspiracy Ideas, and they are ideas and NOT theories, can only be described using one single word: Loser.

  5. When you spend too much time on conspiracy subreddits and right wing social media

Oops! Guess the guy who shot up Comet Pizza wasn’t enough of a warning to these dopes that they are listening to and believing bullshit.

  6. If we had truly unbiased media in this country they’d stop saying “conspiracy theories” and call it what it is: Republican propaganda.

  7. Watching MSNBC report on this is painful. They’re still referring to him as “accused of attacking Paul Pelosi” after he’s been found guilty. They’re tripping over their words trying to explain why he did it. We know why he did it. He was radicalized by the rightwing cult. Fox. Rightwing radio. They all feed this shit. Trump is still mocking the attack and media just doesn’t know how someone could think this was rational…

  8. Finally a headline that follows the reality. I mean, it should be “republican conspiracy theories…” but a step in being more accurate.

  9. Right wing media is little more than a radicalization pipeline attempting to drown out any sane discourse while building a very large cohort of angry white men to carry out the will of the paymasters.

  10. Imagine believing right wing conspiracies so much that you decide to act on it, thinking you’re fighting a just cause and could even be considered a hero!

…only then to be called a gay prostitute by those same right wingers. The betrayal must hurt more than the jail sentence. Enjoy your time behind bars.

  11. Right wing outrage porn is a hell of a drug for some people.

  12. He should get the full life sentence. It’s time to get serious about political violence. You leave these nut jobs on the street, and it’s a matter of time before they band together again and pull another Jan 6th. And the next time I doubt they’re coming mostly unarmed.

  13. This is exactly what Trump is trying to do, he’s hoping one of his unhinged followers will kill the DAs or Judges

  14. Conspiracy Theories = Right-wing Media = Firehose of BS.

And Brandolini’s Law tells us why reason is losing the information war to madness.

  15. I mean… OK, sure. But we have some guy who is a member of the House of Representatives pestering the head of the FBI about “ghost busses.” The impact and extent of nonsense conspiracy theories is terrifyingly broad.

  16. And now he’s the subject of conspiracy theories. Gotta love it when things come full circle.

  17. I wish they did the trial in California state court. I don’t even want the chance that Trump wins and pardons this guy. We all know it is possible.

  18. This has gone from the fault of right wing for promoting it to the fault of the rest of us for still letting them without consequences.

  19. Oddly enough, /r/conspiracy, a sub which couldn’t shut up about the theory of this guy being Paul Pelosi’s lover back when the attack occurred, haven’t mentioned today’s developments at all.

  20. Was the conspiracy he was obsessed with have anything to do with corrupt leadership and insider trading?

  21. I sense a high profile civil action being filed in the near future.

  22. The difference between the left and right the left will actually hold there own to account the right will not.

  23. “This is from The NY Times, which is obviously in cahoots with the liberals”

    – Guys who consistently believe conspiracy theories
