Good. It’s not much in the grand scheme but it’s something.
Animals are abused way too much this day in age, we treat them like dirt.
I’m sure this is the third time i’ve read that headline in just as many years.
Good. Cause the dogs rescued from those markets are traumatized beyond repair most of the time.
It’s a non-issue. The only people who still eat dog meat are the elderly, who consumed it at a point in time when there were limited food resources. The younger generations don’t eat dog meat.
Lol,the hypocrisy.
Only dogs feel pain and rest of the animals are immune to it.

Ffs, what’s next cows and pigs? let us eat our dogs!
Make sure you only eat chicken, cow and pig like a good white boy because your own culture is filthy, filthy! Praise Jesus and read your bible
Honest question: why does this issue require government regulation (other than for public health, as with other animal products)? For some reason selling the meat from certain animals is not allowed in many supposedly modern countries. I doubt many people would even want to eat dog in my home country of the Netherlands if it were fully legal. (To my knowledge the consumption is legal in NL but the commercial sale is not)
We appreciate that 🙏 🙌
I can’t imagine it tastes good.
Only certain types of dogs should be eaten
This is something I didn’t know. And now I do. And I wish I didn’t. This is terrible. How the fuck have they even been eating dogs? They’re pets, our companions, family members, and loyal friends.
I visited Korea for work and I tried dog. I thought it had the fatness and texture of duck but tasted like pork. It was honestly pretty good. I only had one bite though.
I completely understand people’s reservations about trying and eating it because of the way we treat dogs in our culture though.
Good to hear. My dog is a rescue from the meat farm industry in Korea, and the poor baby has got so much trauma from it
Even if you don’t believe in veganism, and in particular the belief that everyone should abstain from meat, there is a lot that can be done to ensure that animals are treated ethically, even when bred for domestic consumption.
One, historically, meat consumption was not as high as it is now. As demand has risen, companies have been breeding larger and larger animals, often in horrible living conditions and overfed to the point where many animals cannot move.
The South Korea law is a response to the younger generation of South Koreans, not wanting to eat dog meat as they have grown up in prosperity, unlike their parents. You could also say that the younger generation is more connected to the western world, where consumption of meat from animals that are considered as pets is wrong.
Dog consumption is the same as horse consumption in mainland Europe. It was something that was done when times were hard, but has ended up as part of the culture. Dogs and cats are pets, while horses are animals of utility, therefore there is more outrage and judgement that those who eat “pets” are “uncivilised”.
Europeans would find dog and cat meat wrong, the same way that the British and Americans would find eating horsemeat wrong, the same way that a Hindu would find eating beef wrong. These are all cultural concepts.
From a ration and non-meat eating view, passing judgement on eating on kind of meat, when you eat other meats without thinking of their production.
I don’t even know how it begin in the first place , i look at my pups and i look at these people i feel the urge of hatred and anger in me . I just can’t imagine how people would do this . Just why wtf
Surprised they’re pushing for it after all.
This is just a cultural preference which dead animal you eat (in Germany there are still regions where ppl eat horse meat for example). Better improve the conditions of all farm animals, implement harsher punishments for animal abuse and consume less.
I’m genuinely curious why animals get double standards when it comes to consumption?
As someone who comes from a muslim country were dogs are treated terribly for no reason, I love seeing these type of news
Welcome to the 21st century
I think one of the biggest reasons why it’s so horrible to eat dogs is because they can talk to us, at least after a fashion. Dogs are very intelligent and communicative. you can have a conversation with a dog if you don’t expect too much. Harder to do that with most animals we eat.
If it’s not sold near you, then go to [ElwoodDogMeat.com.](https://www.elwooddogmeat.com) They are family-owned and dedicated to offering humane, sustainably raised dog meat.
People defending eating dogs. I think for me It’s a cultural issue. A lot of people raise dogs as family pets and put love into them from puppy throughout their entire life until death. I know cows are cute and pigs are smart. So for me it’s purely a cultural and upbringing issue on what is acceptable and what isn’t. And I’ll be honest when I think of someone else doing that to a dog, it’s disgusting. It’s how I was raised we don’t eat dogs, we raise them to be our best friends. Deep down I do know though that if you’re hungry, you will do what you gotta do in certain parts of the world. I’m happy to see that it’s phasing out and one day I hope that fake meats, lab grown meats or synthetic food takeover.
They’re gonna force the dogs to go vegetarian!?!?

But doggo burgers were my fav!
So many fucked up takes on animal agriculture in these comments, holy fucking shit. I’ve been vegan 21 years and it’s just shocking to see grown adults so fucking clueless when I figured it out at 15.
Animal agriculture is disgusting and evil, no matter which species of animal. Go vegan or get fucked.
Good almost all meat production is extremely fucked up.
