I think this is bad in all industries. I work in software and I’m at my wits end being pushed to be productive during a pandemic where I’ve lost family members, can hardly see friends or loved ones and have absolutely nothing to look forward to.
I can’t imagine how bad it must be in healthcare because I have it so much easier than them.
Clap clap – no change in conditions or increase in staffing – clap clap
NHS staff reading this: other than the obvious (be sensible with covid risk stuff, be polite and nice to staff, try and vote for politicians who care about the NHS), is there anything else we can be doing to make things a bit more bearable for you? My heart goes out to you – no way could I do what doctors, nurses, ambulance staff, etc are doing right now – but I feel so powerless to help improve the situation. If there is anything, please let me know!
Theres going to be another flurry of retirements and resignations after this is over.
My dad had to sped some time in hospital this summer, and the one thing I noticed about the nurses in the intensive care ward (apart from them looking understandably frazzled) was how young they all were.
It seems like everybody over the age of about 30 is just gone.
It doesn’t help that everyone wants everything done as soon as possible, even if it not an emergency. You are constantly spinning plates and someone comes along to deliberately knock a few over to keep you on your toes even more.
There has been no financial help..our nhs is smaller than it was 5 years ago..the population is higher..let’s pump all the money in to the nhs that other industries have had..what have the government paid restaurants and bars?? Which let’s face it are not at all important
