    I don’t know where did you get this bollocks but red and green don’t symbolize anything, at all. They were picked because these two colors were the most popular in the ethnic costumes.

    But as green and red combination was, and I quote, too gloomy, it was decided to add a yellow stripe above. First and foremost, it would “look more lively”, and only after that – it could symbolize the sun.
