[Stefan] Without seeing the judgment/award -10 points for Everton feels harsh for a straightforward FFP breach to me. But reinforces that sanctions against City (if proven) and now Chelsea (if charged and admitted on the off-books payments) will be potentially relegation inducing.

  1. [Stefan] One thing is for sure, given the scale of this sporting sanction, Chelsea’s calculus (in my opinion) that they could breach PL P&S and just take a fine as a cost of doing business, must be in urgent and immediate reconsideration.

The January window may be interesting. Even in the best case, they can no longer rely on being able to convince an Independent Commission to accept their Covid and Sanctions allowances as exceptional adjustments (to the extent that was the plan).

  2. ‘Stefan is a former financial adviser to Man City, a Man City fan, a former banker, current lawyer, CEO & general counsel to a PLC dealing with allegations of historic accounting issues. Also well across FFP issues. So this is an interesting view.’

  3. Oh well , been there before , it’s been fun , we’ve seen it all , nothing will change from a fan point of view in my opinion other than level of competition. Will still there , Blue moon….

  4. You’ve got to say it would be funny if we got relegated.

I wonder if any of the older players would stick around for a year in the championship. Even Phillips might get some game time!

  5. Honestly I haven’t been even remotely stressed over this. It would be sad to learn we broke the rules, but if we are guilty, we should be punished and we should accept it. The championship seems like a good time tbf

  6. >sanctions against City (if proven)

If proven. It’s a tomorrow problem.

  7. I witnessed this club win the treble. They can give us whatever they want. We will be there.

  8. We all know the stakes are high. They were high also in the UEFA case.

FA and their cronies trying to give the old guard a fighting chance against us.

    They will fail (like usual).

  9. There’s a reason the Everton investigation only took a few months and City’s has gone completely quiet. Cold hard indisputable evidence that Everton failed P&S rules. No such evidence exists in the City case

  10. I could care less if we paid Mancini a little more than we said we did back in 2012. It would be kind of fun playing in the Championship for a year

  11. Completely separate from us, -10 feels extremely harsh for Everton. Makes me slightly sad because they are a legitimately legendary, historic club and I want to see them remain one of the never relegated teams.

If we get relegated, which I doubt will happen, I would happily watch us eviscerate the Championship. CTID

  12. CAS already proved much of this is fine and has no ground for punishment.

    We will be feasting.

  13. I’ve seen City accomplish more than I ever imagined possible. If it turns out the owners have been fiddling the accounts then throw the book at us and send us to the national league, I don’t give a shit. I’ve seen us in league one before and I’ll still love the team if we’re sent down again. Give me filthy mud matches against glorious Tranmere Rovers, the true Kings of fucking Merseyside. I’ll be there for it.

  14. If relegated, we’d still be in the Champions League next season if we manage to win it again right?

  15. if we get relegated i’d have a fear of losing some of our best players and also missing out on winning the prem but the idea of city in the championship just having the laugh would be so fun for a year

  16. You’ll have to forgive me if this is a dumb question as I don’t follow football much just seen this pop up. Would Man City and Chelsea being relegated not be incredibly unfair to the other teams in the league they’re relegated too?
