These brainiacs are putting themselves out of business with reckless overfishing.
But hey, that’s a problem for tomorrow…
You see Brexit is good, just not for the UK.
Speaking of aquaculture, there was some recent news locally about a new attempt at farmed cod.
That said, the salmon farming is not without its troubles. And not just environmentally. The farms have developed a history of hiring the cheapest foreign truckers they can find.
And that has resulted in a litany of scary finds by police and inspectors, ranging from badly secured and leaky cargo all the way to missing wheels with the axle held in place by cargo straps.
And every winter it is the same story, where foreign trucks with near smooth summer tires and no chains are blocking the roads (or worse).
All so that some 20-something company inheritor can add yet another zero to their bank account.
On a different note, that king crab is an invasive species. Initially imported from the pacific by USSR, it has steadily made its way along the coast while turning the seabed into a wasteland as it goes. Still, the locals has ended up capitalizing on it by marketing themselves as the polar opposite of those Alaskan crab fishing TV shows.

You’re codding me?
This isn’t good.
