In terms of weather yes hangover probably not so much
Yeah, thanks, weather. The first year we‘d be able to stand around outside without freezing our bollocks off is also the year there’ll be no fireworks to stand around and watch.
Double digit temperatures are a bit grim, I love freezing cold winters and hiking in snow/ ice etc.
Probably good news for those struggling to heat their homes however.
I would have liked some snow this year, all we had in the central belt of Scotland was half an afternoon of horizontal snowfall that cleared instantly. I can’t remember if we had subzero temperatures since the Autumn.
10C just isn’t right at New Year. It isn’t just climate change (it’s also weather) but it’s the kind of stat that will make people pay attention to it.
Oh for a proper crisp cold bit of polar air.
I keep getting insect bites, without sustained cold they never die off
I still think the climate has shifted by at least a month and we will see another very cold March as a result. We had a mild December last year and winter did not seem to end until mid April, which may become the norm soon. Christmases are going to be mild and damp over the coming years and dreams of a white Christmas will seem silly to young children.
