  1. The carbon released from the recently approved Rosebank oil and gas field is estimated to be circa 200 million tonnes.

The Flow country has sequestered approximately 400 million tonnes of carbon over thousands of years.

So Rosebank is on target to release half the total carbon of the Flow county in its lifetime.

It’s no wonder that folk under 30 are so nihilistic when it comes to climate change. My generation and older have fucked things up so badly, all for the investment classes…

  2. People don’t realise the impact peatland has on emissions. 15% of all Scottish emissions come from peatland – restoring it would be up as the largest contribution Scotland could make to climate change, but it doesn’t receive that recognition.

  3. Islay’s peat bogs store an insane amount of the planets carbon output, people vastly underestimate how important our bogs are for not just out own ecology but the global climate, protecting the bogs from people and companies that carelessly damage their growth is really important, bog is love, bog is life
