While a big percent of the military are pro Trump flying their Chinese made flag year round on their house and lifted trucks, a much smaller percentage of those soldiers would be willing to round up and at times mow down their fellow citizens to make this happen. They would have to face the majority of the military that would oppose this. No, he will break democracy, break the economy, weaken the U.S., and likely set citizen on citizen. It’s what China and Russia hope for. The billionaires who funded the media fueling this insanity will hop in their jets and flee the country. The GOP can break everything, that’s all they ever accomplish.

Trump could be locked away for the rest of his life or drop dead of a McRib instigated heart attack and it wouldn’t change a thing. He’s a symptom, not the cause. The MAGA movement would continue on without him, only with him as a martyr to rally behind (I can already envision the “Saint Donald” flags they’ll be flying when he eventually passes). The real problem is with those who support him. Unless those people face a real reckoning and are removed from power, the decline will continue. What just happened in Argentina should be a wake-up call. They elected yesterday, a right extremist. He ran on several anti-democratic proposals and won with 56%. He was coming from behind in the first round.
Pay attention. There are run off elections in some places and watch for any other elections throughout the year. Vote every chance you get.
I think unfortunately the US was relatively sheltered during WW2 and subsequent fallout of a massive land war. The European countries don’t have nearly the same level of problems with resurgent nazis, I just wonder if the US had to fight the nazis on our own soil if they would be able to find the same widespread appeal. The US civil war was arguably the closest thing and were too far removed from that that the new nazis have glorified it.
