The ‘anti-woke’ crusade has come to Europe. Its effects could be chilling

  1. Anti-woke is the only thing saving us from being as stupid as the anglos and tiptoeing around every group and dividing our people.

People are people. Stop the labels and the victimization. France and Macron have resisted it best, by mocking the woke nonsense. It’s like the dumb Brits who took down a statue of Robert the Bruce because they assumed he was a bad person because he was historical.

American division is paid for by the Russian and Chinese agents. Do not give in.

  2. Is it Farage that’s doing it? Because according to the wikipedia page for GB News,

    > “The Daily Telegraph reported that, in October 2021, “Nigel Farage remained the station’s biggest draw, hauling in between 50,000 and 80,000 viewers while most of the channel’s output remains firmly below 30,000.”

Not exactly what I’d call a crusade.

  3. What scares me about it is that it’s people speaking out against other people.

And that we get into fisticuffs rather than staying in the discussion.

Woke or anti-Woke, respect must remain prevalent

Everyone has their own opinions and everyone must respect the other’s

The world would be a much better place to live

  4. I gladly welcome these *chilling* effects, screw the “woke” mentality, its acolytes and all other so called progressive ideas imported from the US

  5. Wokism is indeed quite something.

About a year ago, I read in the Washington Post that Princeton was on the verge of renaming the hall or building or whatever honoring Woodrow Wilson there.

The guy was a US president and basically stopped WWI in Europe by bringing American troops to the help of the French and British. In the old-fashioned American narrative, he would be hailed as a hero, a liberator. Perhaps ad nauseam.

But now things were different. For whatever reason that is possibly grounded in some reality, he was depicted as a sus White old male. Having helped to end a war was not enough. Princeton now wanted to celebrate diversity by replacing his name with that of a Black person.

OK. Why not? This is the kind of policy that you’d expect in an American college nowadays.

But then some months later I stumbled upon another article with an update on the renaming process. A female Black entrepreneur had been chosen as the honoree after she had donated millions of dollars to the university.

Wokism at Princeton was about extracting money from Black people to pay for naming rights.

  6. My pronouns are 76 words and some made up by me, because I am a misrepresented human having fallen in love with my fridge.

Besides that, I’m a white cis-man now identify as a black Asian jackfruit with female attributes.

You are all just “black-Asian-female-jackfruit”-phobic and it shows…

  7. I see wokeism as a distorted, twisted, fanaical version of the project of working for social justice.

To me it’s more attracted people with some mental issues who just want to create conflicts over like haloween costumes or a statue nobody even notice is there. They always pick these ridicioulous small things and start shit up.

I think it’s VERY counter productive to actually doing anything positive.

Like of you think there’s too few immigrant artists or something, then do stuff like collect money and make a fund for them – or make a festival or an exhitibion house for their stuff. Or publish books about them. That’s what activism was from like late 1960ies to maybe 2010 when this woke bs really started.

But the woke people will, instead of that, prefer to start a public freak out because of a popular haloween mask sold in a toy shop or something stupid like this, which does abslutely nothing except create an extra conflict out of nowhere.

I think they just want attention for themselves and deep down inside they don’t care about the issues they pretend to care about.

I think wokeism is designed to be like a marketing tool that people can use to help their careeer and get famous while they pretend to give a shit about doing good things.

Like you just need to sit on instagram and write how much I hate some toy and write nonsense about how this toy is racist or whatever, and then you get some fame for yourself which can be converted into money.

You don’t get the same level of personal fame buy funding a book with artist works from “oppressed” artiasts, so I think that’s why they prefer this.

  8. I find it very shocking how so many of us from the old world have already been infected by this wokebraindisease. Quite a lot, judging from most reddit comments. That’s the problem with everyone speaking English – English media is the bridge which the wokeCorruption used to cross over from the Anglo world into our countries.

I wonder if it might not be too late.

  9. Being woke or being anti-woke is about attracting attention. Rally people to a useless cause, get virtue signaling points, get the votes, $$profit. Wokeness has had far more side effects than antiwokeness so far , however. At least in the US. For europe, woke and antiwoke are like the replacement for Hollywood, which has gone to shit.

  10. Wow… Wokeism is realy mesmerising to me. Those guy have been awoken for to long now they should realy take a break, have some sleep and only open it up again when they start to think properly again.

I mean how the fuck do they believe that they are going to be able to push down french throat woke culture when 90% of their corpus are french philosopher ? French knows them, study them and have access to direct material. They were communist and/or existentialist philosopher… and the woke movement is liberal and essentialist. Just how stupid does the americain consider the french ? I mean, how much entitled and confident can one be in its capacity to gazlight people, to try to fuck someone in the ass with the own victim’s dick ?

I respect the balls it take to try that kind of things, but sorry america, wont’ happend or at least not this time, not this way, better luck next time.

  11. – “critical histories of the British empire”

Are there any other ones? After all that empire was one gigantic heist veiled by royal glamour. Or am I being too woke here?

  12. Why exactly should Europe embrace identity politics and a political ideology based on treating people differently due to their skin colour? In the USA and UK it’s causing more division and hatred through having to tip toe around every single minority in the country.

  13. Why is it, that anytime anything “comes to Europe” , it’s always in Britain?

Imagine being like: “Oh, universal Healthcare has arrived to America, and people in Havana like it”
