  1. Why would Khan care about their electricity bill? And impact on local heritage sites? What Westfield and the train Station? Come on.

London is in dire need of another large arena music venue.

  2. The more people come up with things like this the more we head to a NightCity dystopia.

  3. Good–I mean, a new large music venue would be nice. But we don’t need a massive dome blasting advertisements at us 24/7

  4. hear me out, how about a Convex regular icosahedron instead. we could play games in it

  5. I think it looks cool. The Vegas one has had some amazing things projected on it both inside and out. It looks extremely futuristic and has put Vegas on my social feeds way more often than it ever was before.

I can understand trying to avoid a dystopia where we’re surrounded by these sorts of buildings, but surely 1 is okay.

Edit: psa the downvote button isn’t a “disagree” button

  6. >However Mr Khan does not have the last say in the MSG Sphere application and it will now pass to Communities Secretary Michael Gove for a final ruling.

It’s nice that Govey has his retirement plan so well planned. I see a non exec directorship in his future in the entertainment industry.

  7. The Vegas one looks great on TV. Definitely on my to do list next time I’m in Vegas.

They should convert red kens glass testicle on Thames into one of these. It’d be better for it.

  8. I am disappointed only because putting one in England would have guaranteed that someone would have hacked it to look like a truly massive tit.

  9. Why do I get the impression they are trying to create a narrative that it is a bad thing. Sounds like blocking it is a no brainier.

  10. Replace the outside screen with solar panels, the inside is the important bit.

  11. London isn’t separated like Las Vegas is…

95% of central london is built up with people living close to each other, Las Vegas separates that outside of “paradise”

  12. So out of place in London. Would be a real eyesore.

Makes sense in Las Vegas, because everything is an eyesore.

  13. These need to be banned from the UK before one is built.

  14. How would this not also create so much light that every property within a few hundred metres would need to paint their bedroom windows black to get any sleep?

  15. I don’t care that it’s tacky but why do all things have to be the same these days?! Can’t we get a competing DIFFERENT attraction?!

  16. One of those things that would be nice but I can imagine how much it would suck to live near it. Especially if it predictably becomes a glorified billboard.
