Not with Welsh (though in the valleys) I had a friend with an easy to say Russian name, though he was British.
The director in the company I worked for decided he didn’t want people to this guy’s real name incase people “thought he was foreign” so declared he’d be called Simon from then on.
Poor lad was only 17 so didn’t make a fuss.
Couldn’t believe it.
I met a Jewish girl and she asked for my number. I told her we use names here.
