  1. Good change. Not enough in this country is done to commemorate Irelands past.

    Who? Who sees it as divisive? If that was the reasoning for the individuals to not rename the bridge then sorry, but get to f*ck.

    The people who died that day deserved to be remembered.

    Glad that sense prevailed among the members of the council.

  2. Interesting that some residents objected to this. The renaming of streets etc should continue regardless. There should be no remembrance for those who enabled or supported colonialism here.

  3. Berkeley Street should be renamed also Westmoreland Street for starters. You would expect SF will make these changes if they get into power.

  4. Briefest look at the replies shows you who those objecting vote for.
