There are also now seven countries, whose number of annuals births exceeds that of the EU, compared to in 1960s, when only China and India did. This means that while the EU currently has a higher population than all of the following countries except for India and China, it wont stay that way. The list is as following:
1. India: 23 m
2. China: 10.8 m
3. Nigeria: 7.9 m
4. Pakistan: 6.3 m
5. Indonesia: 4.5 m
6. Congo: 4 m
7. Ethiopia: 3.9m
As the number of annual births in the EU continues to fall due to a low fertility rate at 1.5 children per woman, this list will probably expand, and include the Philipines, Bangladesh, Egypt, Tanzania, and Uganda in the near future. Most likely also the US, whose number of births remain relatively stable compared to the EU.

Europe in general will get completely changed over the next couple of decades. [The Spanish National Institute of Statistics](https://www.ine.es/en/prensa/pp_2022_2072_en.pdf) estimate that almost 37% of the Spanish population in 2072, will be foreign-born, compared to the 16% that are foreign born in 2023. Note that this is not the amount of foreigners, but only foreign-borns. So it is safe to assume that ethnic Spanish people will be a minority in their own country by then. Why would Spain accept so many immigrants? Well, the amount of births in Spain has declined by roughly 50% in just 59 years, from [700K in 1964, to 310K in 2023](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Spain#Vital_statistics). Therefore, they are in a acute need of workers.
Even Scandinavian countries such as Sweden and Norway now have a fertility rate below 1.5.
europe will be majority non-european by 2100 because people are having 1 child instead of 2
So how fucked are we when this biggest part of the bill goes into retirement? Retirees in my country already have a bigger income than a working middle class family.
Bring in more migrants! /s
I can’t wait until the demographers of the future explain the leading reasons behind this.
I’m sure that’ll totally not effect anything at all
The future is dark.
Maybe Gary Indiana, USA near Chicago is an example of what will happen. From 1960 to 2020 the city lost 67% of it’s population from 178’000 to 69’000 inhabitants. It’s like a ghost city with a lot of empty buildings decaying.

Very interesting to see absolute figures
Looks more like a population octahedron than a population pyramid.
Ah I still remember when rona started how people talked it was made to return the pyramid of population into a pyramid instead of having more retired people than young
The colonizers will soon be the colonized the tables have turned hahaha
Aid a civilization has a replacement rate of 1. That means I 29 years the population will half. #LateStageFeminism
it doesn’t really matter, the world is overpopulated. We don’t need super high birthrates, and we don’t need high immigration to keep populations high. let European population fall is good for the environment.
I was told having less kids means that few that I do have will have a better future.
When in reality it just means the future will be dominated by innumerable foreigner kids.
