I saw that this has been posted last year but didn’t see anything more recent and i only found out about it a few days ago and I’m now looking forward to putting mine together

An Post is offering free post (up to 1kg) if you want to send a Christmas care package to a care home resident (no free post for NI unfortunately) through https://carepack.ie/

They match you with a resident and there is a list of gift ideas (and what not to send also) on the website thankfully, as once i signed up i remembered how bad i am at knowing what to get people for presents 😅

Anyway i thought it was a great idea and just thought I’d post it here incase others hadn’t heard and wanted to sign up – they recommend you post your package before the 15th of Dec.

Also an obvious note but if you sign up please do follow through, as there will be a person in a care home looking forward to receiving theirs.

  8. I got my two last week. I do it every year. This time there were some notes of what things they are interested in! Can’t wait to get bits and bobs for them! It’s such a lovely thing to do for ‘the thing that I don’t mention till its at least December’.

    Got two ‘female’ with no likes / dislikes so let’s hope they’ll enjoy the surprise 🙂 I’m happy they listed knitting wool as something, I have some lovely yarn that might be a pleasant surprise.

    My third year and first time gotten an actual name and not just the male/female.

    It even had a suggestion of what the resident likes. Really excited!

  16. I just signed up and got a male with no extra clues. My last granddad died when I was 10, I’ve never shopped for an old man in my life. 😳 What have I gotten myself in for
