  1. The weighed vote green bench easy life and utterly meaningless representation. And we are sleepwalking back to it.

  2. It’s infuriating that Labour have done absolutely nothing other than sit and wait for the pendulum to swing back their way, and are going to be richly rewarded for it.

They have not done a single thing to deserve winning people’s support back. Nobody is voting Labour because they’re offering great policies or whatever, it’s just because the Tories have fucked up so badly, and in Scotland folk are going off the SNP a bit.

It’s equally infuriating to see people in SNP-held seats saying they’re voting Labour to get rid of the Tories when they can literally just keep voting for their existing MP. In fact, giving Labour a stinking majority is going to be terrible for Scotland – they need to be held to account and the only way of doing that is if they need SNP votes to pass legislation.

Is it any wonder Labour takes voters for granted when people give them their votes so easily?

  3. He has a point, in that without reform being in the next election manifesto, it would be unwise to get excited about Gordon’s proposals – as much as I want to.

In terms of electoral strategy though, and the goal of removing the Tories, the absence of potentially controversial policy proposals is probably a feature rather than a bug.
