**Luis Fabiano (Former Sevilla/Brazil player):** “I would also break all of the goalscoring records that Haaland has. With the opportunities he has for that team [Pep’s Manchester City]?

**Benja (Interviewer):** “He’s scored 3 hat-tricks in 3 consecutive games.”

**Luis Fabiano:** “Thanks to his team-mates who gave him 30 chances.”

**Benja:** “And when you scored, what did you do?”

**Luis Fabiano:** “Because of my team-mates as well. Haaland has 30 chances and scores 3 goals. If I had 30 chances, I’d score 10 or 20 goals with my quality in front of goal. That’s the difference.”

[Benja Me Mucho] Luis Fabiano on Erling Haaland: “I would also break all of the goalscoring records that Haaland has. With the opportunities he gets in Pep’s Manchester City team. Haaland has 30 chances & scores 3 goals. If I had 30 chances, I score 10-20 goals with my quality in front of goal.”

  1. That would be a good argument if it wasn’t for Haaland scoring far above his xG.

  2. Luis Fabiano would not even start or even be a sub 😂

  3. So Luis Fatiano thinks he is also better than Aguero? Aguero had time under Pep, too.

Unrelated, but man I miss Aguero. I love Haaland and all that but Aguero … *chef’s kiss*

  4. So what he’s saying is: he was so bad at positioning himself that his team mates had a hard time finding him.

Also in the years I could find stats for on whoscored.com (Sevilla 2009-11, Sao Paulo 2013-15, Vasco da Gama 2017), he scored 55 goals from 337 shots (16,3% conversion rate). Literally half of the lower bound he said he would score.
Meanwhile Haaland has scored 176 goals from 600 shots (29,3% conversion rate). Pretty close to the numbers Luis Fabiano claims for himself.

  5. Everyone claims that every Striker in the world will be scoring better than Haaland in City’s team. Just all talk. No different from Pique trying to make himself relevant by talking nonsense about Madrid
