  1. The dude ingested a lot of mercury because they believed its gonna make him immortal.

What if they were right? Keep it closed god damn.

  2. Because he left a note saying ‘Whatever you do, don’t let this country become a communist dictatorship that tries to rule the world’.

  3. Isn’t this the tomb that was surrounded by a literal pool of mercury?

  4. It supposedly has a lake of mercury so I wouldn’t be enthusiastic about opening it either.

  5. *Highly volatile mercury may be escaping through cracks* I don’t think they understand the definition of of volatile.

  6. How to save money and increase mysterious fascination the same time.

  7. They need to hire that one friend from middle-school who would do anything you dared him to, and get him on that archaeology team.

  8. i am brave enough to open it if the amount of money is right

  9. We currently do not have the proper technology to be able to preserve the fabrics and many other artifacts of the effects of the outside environment, the Chinese themselves learned this from the other excavations they had in discovering the artifacts that started to crumble as soon as outside air came in. The first emperors tomb without a doubt contains within it priceless artifacts.

  10. Maybe a collective “baawk bawk baaaawk” will nudge them in the right direction

  11. Somehow i doubt they’re ‘scared’.
    Probably other reasons.

OP just used the word ‘scared” to be a clickbaitist.

    Lol

  12. The whole world be like; haha u scaredy-cat archeologist

  13. Is this not something that Boston Dynamics could take care of?

  14. Why not use something like bomb disposal robots to scout it out first? We’ve got working rovers on freakin’ Mars, so I’m sure it could be made sturdy/dependable enough.

  15. As a representative of humanity… PUT IT BACK.

Don’t care what it is… put it back.

We don’t need any Ancient Chinese wormholes, witchcraft, and or wizardry… not in this economy… so just a reminder that when you do eventually open it… PUT IT BACK, whatever “it” may be.

    😆

  16. If there was ever a “mummy’s curse”, this would be it.

  17. The Chinese should be used to heavy metal contamination by now. When people paint fish and dye vegetables mercury is the least of their worries.

  18. Do you want to bring about the end of the world? Because that’s how you bring about trend of the world

  19. Great Idea, send grahm Hankok, he will prove the tomb is way older then thought and. linked to aincent civilization and that big archeology is lying/s

  20. Well, they are right to fear the dragon emperor..
Rick O’Connel is not in his prime anymore

  21. It seems like archaeologists are relying on information that is roughly 2000 years old. Can’t they drill and get some sort of small camera in there first, in order to actually see what they are dealing with? Or ground-penetrating radar, or some sort of imaging device?

  22. In an ideal world they send a mini drones inside and take pictures. Think it as a mini Mars exploration

  23. Leave it alone! Remember the last time archeologist tried to do some cool shit in Egypt and opened that black sarcophagus in 2018 and everything went to shit after that?

  24. It’s fine. It’s not like people have to uncover any tomb they come across.

  25. I remember reading that China just happy to wait until technology is better. There is no good reason to do this now other than curiosity.
