  1. “The United States responded using an AC-130 aircraft already in the air and it hit an Iranian-backed militia vehicle and a number of personnel involved in the attack, said Sabrina Singh, a Pentagon spokesperson.”

-someone got pounded back into the stone age. Which I guess for them is like 20 years ago.

  2. I really find it funny how these douchebags took the mantle of the “Iraqi resistance” (the original ones were Jaish al-Mahdi and Sunni insurgents) while in reality, they were the ones (at least, their leaders were) who came to Iraq on American tanks like Hadi al-Ameri, Nouri-Al maliki and others of his kin.

  3. The Yemeni faction said its forces would “deal with the ship’s crew in accordance with the teachings and values of the Islamic religion.”

yeah…that doesn’t sound good at all. pretty sure they aren’t going to sit down and tell stories.

  4. Quote from article:

    > “The United States had so far limited its response to the 66 attacks against its forces in Iraq and neighbouring Syria, claimed by Iran-aligned Iraqi militia groups, to three separate sets of strikes in Syria.”

Why have the responses been so non-existent from the US? Is it logistics or politics?

In the case in this article, an AC-130 gunship destroyed the attackers. If all of the attackers were destroyed, wouldn’t that be better than responding to just under 5% of them?

  5. Responding only in self defence is why israel is in that mess right now

I advice the US to not do the same mistake

  6. I’ve called for fire from an AC130 before. It’s pretty surreal. You just name a target and moments later it magically explodes. You never see or hear the plane. It made me wonder how the opposition has the balls to attack us. You’ve got rifles and RPGs. We’re magically explode shit over here. What are you thinking?

  7. 1. Article says there were eight injuries in this previous incident. Also, there have now been 66 attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria, since this conflict has begun.

  8. The worst part of getting hit by the behemoth cannons on an AC-130 is that you hear your demise before you experience it.

  9. Killed by something they didn’t even know was above them that turned them into red mist. Imagine thinking that this would go well for them.

  10. >Ain al-Asad air base was attacked

    They fucked around

    >The United States responded using an AC-130

    They found out

  11. I’ve worked on the AC-130J “Ghostrider” gunships when I was stationed at Hurlburt Field. I read an article recently where there is talk of removing the 105mm cannon because the mission has changed. I’ve seen plenty of EO-IR and MX-20 footage of those guns (30mm and 105mm) blowing up terrorists, buildings, and vehicles. We did some hellfire missile testing at the White Sands in New Mexico back in December 2018. There was about seven or so hellfire missiles outfitted on the outboard wings of the AC-130. It can also carry Griffin Missiles, small diameter bombs, and talks of a high powered laser being added to the front where the chin-strap MX-20 sits.

  12. Slow your roll, we don’t want to be in another war. We have to tell Israel enough is enough. It stops now!!!

  14. Didn’t the Iraqi people vote the US out of the country? What are we still doing there?

  15. It’s part of removing the focus on Ukraine. Russia is calling in its favors to create a new second ( Israel) and third front in the Middle East. The efforts are to embroil the US in its own quicksand then ,using more ammo and people, grind down Ukraine during the coming winter.

    Edit spelling
