The works to make Schuman Square in Brussels greener and largely car free have finally started, should be finished by Winter 2025.

  1. The excavation of Schuman roundabout has begun in Brussels.

  2. That looks pretty cool. Though I can’t help but think that during a rainy day this will look quite bad.

  3. >should be finished by Winter 2025

Big LOL. I’ll believe it when I see it.

  4. That’s a lot of concrete for a “greening” attempt, but it looks better than before.

  5. This will cost 25 millions, seems like it could be way cheaper without the weird structure in the middle…

  6. It will take forever and it’s super ugly as all the European buildings

  7. I guess three bushes and a few pieces of grass does count as “greener” than plain concrete with no bushes and grass. Still, is this the “green” of the future?
Also who voted for that “art” piece in the middle?

  8. I like the additional pedestrian space, but the architecture is very bland. I think that they could ahve made something nicer.

  9. Knowing Belgian efficiency, I think it will be completed before Olympic games of 2045.

  10. Looks like utter shit and isn’t green at all. Bring back the old roundabout
