  1. Key points: A bill to reform the judiciary will:

    1. Eliminate an independent watchdog, the Public Integrity Council, from assessing the integrity of judges by subordinating it to a governmental commission
    2. It allows the government to suspend the authority of Public Integrity Council members
    3. As well as banning “value judgements” which makes valuing ethics impossible
    4. And allowing the government to ban Public Integrity Council members from making assessments public.

All in all this would be a bad backslide on reforming the judiciary in Ukraine. Which is one of the most important things to do in order to combat corruption.

  2. So what this is saying is that the bill would remove all possibility of joining the EU. A Russian scam?

  3. When you look at corruption, sometimes it looks back.

  4. Well zelenskyy will have to veto this bill if it comes to his desk

  5. Every single MP who supports this is giving Putin Ukraine on a plate. It’s unbelievable that even in the middle of a heavy casualty war, corruption is the only thing Ukrainian MPs are thinking about.

  6. Does anybody know why this bill made it to parliament, and which MPs were pushing for it?

  7. I love Ukraine, but I really appreciate the efforts of the West giving a good smack on the head if does something wrong. If this is as bad as it is, having the EU and US raise a stink about it would be greatly appreciated
