Hi!

I just moved to Finland two weeks ago, so I’m sorry if the post is a bit stupid but these things are quite unusual for me.

As you can see, two gentlemen from this agency came this morning to inspect the windows in the apartment. I don’t speak Finnish and they didn’t seem to speak much English, but they took photos of some parts of the windows and since the building is quite an old one I was a bit worried and asked them if everything is okay but I am guessing they didn’t understand as they just said Ok, goodbye and left 😅

Does anyone know if this is standard practice or will I have some issues / repairs needed soon?

Thank you so much!

  1. Hey,

Yes this is fairly common. They just came to inspect the windows, it has happened in most of the apartments that I’ve rented in Finland for a longer time. They might be doing a cost analysis for potential changing/repairing the windows next summer or simply checking how the windows are holding up in the whole building.

I wouldn’t be too worried, especially if you are only renting.

  2. Most likely checked the condition of insulation both that inner keeps the heat in and that outer one breaths enough to not let mold start growing between the 1st and 2nd glass.
