>The court heard that Connors is currently serving a one year sentence under Animal Health and Welfare Act, 2013 after he left a newborn foal alone at a property with loose dogs to go on a celebratory drinking binge.
>The foal was subsequently attacked by two lurcher dogs and suffered severe injuries resulting in all animals being put down.
>Danny Connors, aged 49, of Canal Road Letterkenny was today sentenced to 12 months in prison by Judge John Aylmer at the Letterkenny Circuit Court last month.
>Father-of-seven Connors, who has 35 previous convictions, had pleaded guilty to a charge of animal cruelty.
Absolute horse play from the defendant
Such a rich culture….
It must be his ‘culture’.
You get worse for failure to pay a TV license.
Anyone else just completely exhausted at the idea that the worst of society genuinely get away with things that decent, hardworking people get nailed to the wall for?
If you’re scum, they’re afraid of you and so you get little to no consequences so you can…..continue to be scum?
Infuriating.
He will go in for a few months then go back to his free house and probably collect all the dole his missed out on too.
It’s like you get loyalty points for being a massive tramp, and you can use those loyalty points to avoid punishment.
When a social problem is as great, yet not treated as such by a nation’s courts as animal (mostly horses) abuse is here, I wish the EU could step in and wield its big stick.
