Conservatives get indignant about the dossier. The insistence is that the dossier was proven to be purely made up democratic propaganda. They repeat it ad nauseum and most honestly believe that the dossier has been proven fake..
However, all that was proved was Democrats paid for the dossier. That one can rightfully argue the research was collected for partisan gain. That the motivation was to expose Trump. Who commissioned the information and why in itself prove or disprove the information contained in the dossier.
Separately Trump is a proven liar to staggering degrees. In 2016 Trump repeatedly claimed that maybe it was China that hacked the DNC and gave info to WikiLeaks. Trump made those claims after U.S. intelligence has already briefed him that the hacks were performed by Russia. Trump was literally running cover for Russia in the media. It is head spinning!! As President Trump stood next to Putin in front of the world’s media and said he trusted Putin more than U.S. intelligence.
Trump has been found liable for fraud by a court of law, Trump has repeatedly lied about affairs with a porn star, Trump literally used a sharpie to change a Hurricane forecast model rather than just admit he misspoke, etc. Nothing Trump ever says can be taken at face value.
I guess I’m missing why he even brought it up? He’s defending allegations from nearly 8 years ago. Almost like there’s some cognitive dissonance going on.
