Myanmar has literally ethnic cleansed Rohingya Muslim minorities in their hundreds of thousands and pushed them into Bangladesh and reports of massacres in Myanmar, burning entire villages, rapes etc. I didn’t see any Muslims from around the world say squat. No mass demonstrations no fatwa. Practically nothing. And here we have Indonesia turning their backs on the Rohingya refugees from this conflict. But draw a cartoon….

If you search some local news, there are multiple reasons why the local people rejected these refugees. This was not the first time they came to the shore, and they were accepted by local people at first. However some of them left a pretty bad impression to the local people, in a way they are traumatized to accept these refugees (just use Google Translate on sources below. These are two of pretty reputable news site from Indonesia):
Anyway, some news even say the local people gave some helps, foods and stuff to the people on the boat, only for them to dump back. I guess that will make even nice people fed up eventually, huh?
Edit ; It’s not that they don’t want those refugees, it’s that the refugee should be able to live in peace and freedom in THIER home country ..and not be genocide by terrorists governments or brutal military regimes .(sometimes sponsored by the west) not in Myanmar case tho there is little military aid send from west …

That is the problem, they weren’t merely passing through in Bangladesh, they already declared themselves as refugees while they were in Bangladesh. Most of the Rohingya refugee’s ultimate destination is Malaysia, where they can find work.
Australia did the same thing to Indonesia when some Afghan refugees who had registered in Indonesia as refugees, tried to make a boat trip to Australia. Australia turned them back.
