  1. For anyone wondering about scale that green isn’t algae those are tree tops.

  2. I have nothing to compare the size to, but that still looks frickin massive! May god help us all.

  3. Nothing for scale so gonna assume it’s the size of a two euro coin and call you a pussy

  4. Have you locked all the doors and windows? Sealed any cracks and invested in a flame thrower?

  5. What business has that thing got in this country!

  6. Wow this looks like a trap door or funnel web spider. I didn’t think you guys had these in Ireland.

  7. What the fuck is that?? I’ve seen Ruby Walsh on smaller creatures

  8. So, maybe it’s time to move from that creepy tunnel near Mordor

  9. I seen one of them running towards me after I lifted ivy off roof tiles in Raheny. About the size of a dinner plate. Even the Harry Hardshaw from Siberia working with me screamed

  10. You stomped on it,burned the patio and moved house im presuming?

  11. It’s just a harmless tunnelweb spider. Malahide is riddled with them.

  12. A friend of mine got chased by a camel spider, now they are big

  13. Funnel weaver. Winter should finish them off, When it gets cold.

  14. Looks like a kind of fishing spider. Are the Chelicerae translucent?

  15. That’s a class spider. No idea what it is, never seen one. Looks pure velvety.

  16. To add to this instinctual dislike, apparently this species is matriphagous (the young devour their mother after hatching). So I’d say an orbital strike on your house after you move is in order.

  17. Aaah Jaysus Spider!!! Didn’t know he was out…. Welcome home brudda

  18. I just asked Collie Ennis he has a podcast called critter shed and knows his stuff, and he said its a black lace web spider, it’s native. 👌

  19. It was probably asleep. Count yourself lucky it didn’t take the brush off you and bate you around the head with it.

  20. I think this solves a 40 year old mystery for me. I used to feed daddy long legs to something like this in my old house when I was very young. I never saw it in full, just it’s head that it would stick out to grab the fly. I always wondered what it was and I’m pretty sure it’s one of these.

Also it may have bitten me at some point and maybe he used the interwebs to spread the word about it, so if that’s the reason this giant nightmare has developed a taste for human flesh – my bad!
