Health Insurance application

Hi Guys!

I’m currently in the process of moving to Germany from another EU country for the first time for a job opportunity and I will start working in the middle of December.

I currently don’t have a registered address and will be living with relatives until I find a place for myself, but they cannot have me registered to that address.

My employer told me that I would need to sign up for a German statutory health insurance as they need my Social Security Number for employment and this is possible to do without a registered address.

However, I tried signing up for TK (Techniker Krankenkasse), but on their online application form ([https://www.tk.de/service/form/2033446/mitgliedwerden/mitgliedwerden.form#sDV](https://www.tk.de/service/form/2033446/mitgliedwerden/mitgliedwerden.form#sDV)) I am asked for an address and the field cannot be left blank (please see the attached screenshot for reference).

**I’m just looking for confirmation, that this address does not need to be my registered address (since I don’t have one), right?**

*Is this address perhaps only being used to ship my TK card to me?*
*If this is is the case, will they ship it to me on the day I start my employment or before? How long does it usually take?*
*If they ship it on the day I start my employment, should I input my relatives’ address or the company’s address?*
