If ‘ReportingFromUkraine’ is to be believed. The Russians tried to attack North so the Ukrainians took advantage and attack South and had a lot of success.
Strategic repositioning, gesture of good will, we got fucking clapped etc.
The whole Avdiivka offensive was poorly thought out. It felt like some commanders were given an impossible goal and their careers depended on being seen trying even if they knew it was doomed to fail.
It’s probably just not so easy to throw meat assaults through the mud. Putin wants his one win for the year to claim victory and sell the war to his population.
thank you Ukrainian hero soldiers
They’re not scaling back… They’re running out of armour and men in that area.
I feel so sorry for the Ukrainian soldiers on that front… Hopefully a bit of respite in this time… Help them regroup, re-arm and dig in for the winter.
A russian teenager killed him self at a firing range because he didn’t want to go to war, and he didn’t want to go to prison.
That should of been a stark message to Russia that their people would rather take their own life… And a message to the world that Russia truly is a f…ed up place.
I feel like each russian offensive is a shadow of the last one, given their losses in manpower, materiel, and initiative. Russian artillery and air was intense and allowed for broad breakthroughs in initial phase. The attacks on Severodonetsk were ferocious and overwhelming, but geographically limited. The attack on bakhmut was much more locally strong, but took months to actually complete. The attack on Andivka has been an even smaller version of bakhmut.
