Convince Russia that NATO have the will and determination to fight a war against Russia, even if we actually do not.
At some point sanctions become obsolete. It is time to show an iron fist to that russian gnome.
As long as an organisation designed to counter Russia keeps expanding closer to our border, nothing will deter us. In the same way that the U.S will lose it’s shit if we built a military alliance in Cuba, Mexico and other countries, I doubt they’ll sit back and say it’s our sovereign right. You can be rest assured that the U.S will do whatever it takes to destabilise or initiate coups in those countries.
The question of deterrence is now directly linked to de-escalation. Standing down and easing NATO encroachment is the only way forward. The talks on Monday aim to outline a blue print. The West knows that Russia is serious and all their intelligence intercepts verify that if they failed to come to the table and agree to terms we can live with, then Putin will make the executive decision which I fear will bring Ukraine a lot of pain.
If Russia was going to attack they would have 1.5 years ago when Trump would have run interference for them.
Stop buying their petroleum. Its what’s keeping them afloat. All santions would then carry some actual weight to them.
