Is it common knowledge that Nappy is short for Napkin?!

  2. Very specifically from a time when disposables weren’t a thing – a nakpin is a woven square of cloth made for cleaning up mess, so babies were dressed in napkins. When disposables came on the scene they were made of plastics and/or pressed fibre, and not woven fibre. ‘Napkin’ would be an incorrect word to use, especially among older generations or posh folks, so it got shortened to nappy (napkin-y). It comes up every 5 years and im like oh yeah i knew that!! And then immediately forget i possess this knowledge

  3. Manufacturing has moved from Ireland to Romania as far as I know. Looks like they messed up the label

  4. That and Sudocrem is meant to be pronounced Sudo-cremm and not Sudo-cream

  5. Is it common knowledge sudocream used to be called soothing cream until Dubliners couldn’t speak proper English and it was changed to sudocream
