The nasty party spending their last year in power killing off as many sick and vulnerable as possible. They don’t care how either. Maybe take away their essential free prescriptions or just let them fall in despair, destitution and suicide.
Making the lives of the sick / disabled and most vulnerable in society absolutely miserable all to save a pittance in state spending terms. How the f’ck anyone can proudly call themselves a tory is beyond me.
Be interesting to see if this does encourage people back into work and significantly reduce those claiming benefits.
I agree with measures targeting perpetual “job seekers” but targeting the disabled is crossing a line.
The Tories are revisiting to their killing thousands of disabled people to save a bit of money approach.
This is actually evil, I don’t know how anybody can support this.
Here comes the Tory “carrot and stick” method of getting people into work
Where for the working class they offer the tiniest carrot and giant stick with nails poking out of it to beat them with
How else will they fund all the cash chucks to their pals? All that covid ppe equipment money they handed out to millionaire mates has to be clawed back from the almost destitute somehow.
They are not losing anything, just not getting as much free stuff.
I can’t express how much I despise this government, an absolute repugnant bunch of ghouls
Rather than tax the rich they target the disabled, Genius move to win votes there torys.
We would do more for the economy and the planet by eating one billionaire than everyone going carbon neutral and vegan ever could.
I honestly don’t understand this. They’re going to require disabled people to do job placements or else they’re going to lose their benefits? I know some people on disability benefits that would like to volunteer for charities they like, but don’t, because that would mean losing their benefits, so are the rules going to change for that?
Also, what about disabled people with young kids? Will the government top up the child care costs?
I think it’s all posturing and going to be used as a wedge at the election

The new policy will serve to kill more people. It was gross to see Rishi Sunak loving this part of the budget being announced.. but in many ways it was just more Tory suicide. Some of the people that they are supporting may still vote for them, for example coppers, but as the conservatives keep pointing out themselves, a large part of the UK are unable to work due to ongoing health problems and disability. This is now a large proportion of the UK who will not vote conservative whichever party they voted for previously. It would be too unsafe.. certainly not life promoting, and I’m just waiting for those masses of suitable work placements and paid professionals within those placements to show up to cover the amount of people with varied needs they will attempt force into them.
