  1. What the actual Fuck!!!!

This should never happen to anyone but especially not Children.

  2. McEntee and Harris need to be removed from their responsibilities. They are ultimately responsible for failure to police and deliver justice.

  3. Working not too far from here today and heard all the sirens. So horrific, I hope everyone involved can recover well

  4. Is the final line of that article a typo? It feels very off to include it without something more concrete to say.

  5. Walked past about 30 mins ago, armed gardai at the scene – looks very serious

  6. This is so grim. The atmosphere in the city is so tense at the moment. If this turns out to be a immigrant, there will be a really nasty situation on our hands.

  7. Could hear more sirens than I’ve ever heard and constant. Knew something was up but this is unimaginable. Horrific

    Hope they’re all ok

    An arrest has been made

  8. This is horrendous. Anti immigrant sentiment will likely rise after this.

  9. This is horrific, and a trend I hope doesn’t repeat itself. The amount of stabbings & fatalities in school-going children in the UK is shocking we don’t need it here

  10. Also a serious crash at the Children’s hospital today involving a stolen transit van and 2 other cars.

    Something has to change

  11. There’s been so many crazy events in the last few years.

    – Ana Kriegel murder by schoolboys

    – Jastine Valdez random obduction and murder

    – Young lad smashes step mothers head with a hammer in Offaly

    – Multiple children being stabbed

  12. The fact most people pop in to ask what the person looked like and are they foreign just goes to show how the Internet can absolutely warp peoples minds.

  13. A polite reminder to everyone to go off reliable news sources as this develops. People with zero info are already trying to hijack this disgusting incident to their own political ends on twitter…

  14. Heart is absolutely broken for the parents and everyone involved.

This feels like one of those moments we as a nation will remember for a long, long time.

And as a reminder to *most* of the other comments in here, if your first thought on how sad it is, is related to the colour of the animals skin, you need to take a serious look in the mirror.

  15. Hope all the injured are ok. If the perpetrator is Irish you will hear all about it, if he is from…somewhere else…the story fades away…

  16. Awful, hope all the children recover and recieve all the help they need.

  17. Imagine hearing that children have been attacked and your first thought being, better make this about my racist agenda.

  18. Very upsetting, you always read about this happening elsewhere and hope it would never happen here. I hope everyone injured is ok.

  19. I’m going to have a cry. I know ‘things like this don’t happen here’ is such a cliche thing to say in the wake of incidents like this but it’s true, kids are supposed to be safe at school.

  20. This will raise all sorts of questions. The lack of visible policing in this fucking country has tragically come home to roost. I live nearby and the city around here is a mess at times. The city is full of angry mad men and women (of all hues and backgrounds) and tonnes of micro aggression. It was beyond naive to think we could somehow escape what literally nearly every other country has experienced. And it was fucking negligent to do so without a proper police force in a mid sized European capital. Apparently, a passerby had to tackle the attacker.

Thoughts with any injured, the victims and families. fucking awful

  21. Wtf… I saw something happened in town earlier but didn’t think it would be this bad.

  22. Was there just after they blocked it off. No clue it was that serious
