“The jury found that the egg suppliers exported eggs to reduce the overall supply in the domestic market, as well as limiting the number of chickens through means including cage space, early slaughter and flock reduction, court documents say.”
So reducing the overall supply and producing flock numbers, increases revenue? Is this just in the form of reducing shipping and storage costs? Or is it the maintenance costs of a larger flock? I am not sure how this would significantly increase profits. But I guess the information presented in court must have demonstrated this for a unanimous decision.
fuck em
Prison sentences for white collar criminals is the only way to stop companies from stealing. Companies budget for fines. Companies can not budget for executive prison sentences.
The people at the top of these companies who stole from the American people should be sent to prison. All other executives will thinking twice when they imagine the sound of the cell door slamming shut.
Can’t wait for my .49 check from the class action lawsuit!
