I don’t see much chance at any results with these talks. Russia is likely acting in bad faith and only using this for propaganda purposes ‘ala “we gave you a chance, but you decided to reject peace” before initiating a new wave of invasion into Ukraine.
Nothing points to any real attempts at reaching compromises. Putin has been publishing ever more aggressive and chauvinistic articles on its neighbours, with especially hostile stance on Ukraine, calling it basically a fake country that is based on historical Russian lands, but which has treacherously switched to anti-Russian policies. I mean, this basically calls for ~~invasion~~ liberation to correct for such “historical error”.
