I’ve had these jerseys for a while but only recently I’ve experienced them sorta melting. These are my favorite jerseys too. 😢
If anyone’s curious, I got these jerseys at the fan shop in Munich when I visited in 2010 and 2012. Not sure if anyone else had the same experience.

I can not understand how I was able to never purchase a Robben jersey…
Do you dry them? Usually I hang dry mine so that they don’t shrink or mess up the numbering, I also try to wash them inside out. Anything to preserve the badges and numbers lol
I never put mine in the dryer – this kind of looks like they’ve been overheated. That being said – they’re both more than 10 years old and if they’re your favourite jersey’s then I would imagine they’ve been well worn. Nothing lasts forever unfortunately.
never happened to me, but i do wash them separately and air dry them
I know everyone is saying not to put them in the dryer but I’d like to also add that it can also be the addition of fabric softener.
I should’ve mentioned that these jerseys are my go-to when I head out to watch a game with friends. They’ve also been around the world with me, so a combination of changing environments and years of use might have had a big hand in the deterioration.
Nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to care. No drying, air dry as well. This has now become a PSA for anyone with older kits. lol Thanks for everyone chiming in on the convo!
Yeah unfortunately all my old jerseys eventually have done this. I had one renumbered and lettered but generally there’s not much you can do I think. I never put them in the dryer and one just sitting in the closet the numbers started peeling and sticking.
This has happened to my 2012 Müller jersey too. I always wash on cold, no fabric softener, air dry. Brought the jersey with me on vacation to Florida and the summer heat and humidity destroyed the letters ☹️
