So, my wife was made redundant a month ago. Day after she was told her role would be ‘phased out’ she got offered an interview for a job she applied for a week prior. Later the same week as being told she would be out of job in 3 months, she was successful in her interview and took the job offer! So not only is she getting a lovely redundancy pay out, she has a new job secure and she doesn’t have to go back to the shit hole she just left ever again. Today was her last day there. We celebrated in the only way anyone would in this situation, with a fucking amazing cottage pie!

  9. I can’t comment on the interior but it looks like you’ve made a sterling effort.

    However, going to have to pull you up on the topping. Could well be properly tasty but the finish is as flat as a pancake. Next time, make sure that mash is nice and firm and then give it a bit of texture. Either carve designs into it with a fork or pull it up into little peaks with the back of a wooden spoon so that, when its cooked, you get a lovely rough, crispy texture like the outside of an ideal roastie. Couple of minutes extra in the prep but so worth it.

  10. Well done – best of both worlds as it sounds like she already wanted to leave, now gets paid to leave and has a new job lined up.
