Not sure that it means Croft. Why is there a full stop after each letter and it appears to be marking that boundary line. Could it be a map error and it be C.P. and be Civil Parish (boundary).
The black dotted boundary line does follow the stream across this section and is there on the modern OS map as well.
Interstingly Felin Bontbren has taken apart and rebuilt in St Fagans.

Croft. SS could be single stream. I got this info from here: [https://maps.nls.uk/os/abbrev/s.html](https://maps.nls.uk/os/abbrev/s.html)

Yes SS generally means Single Stream and I checked CF and it’s the same link at u/BitTwp have given out and it says Croft.
I cannot imagine that being any different for Wales as the Ordanance Survey map was the same abbreviations for all over the UK
Here is the other additional [Info](https://maps.nls.uk/os/6inch-england-and-wales/) related to Ordanance Maps
In this example it means Centre of Fence (not Croft). See here: https://maps.nls.uk/view/128076792
