Voting for a party that is friendly with a regime that is directly responsible for killing your citizens in the downing of a passenger jet. Cool.
They can cheer all they want, no sane dutch politician will support Russia after MH17.
Well, there is one actually. But he also believes the moonlanding is fake, so yeah.
Fucks sake Netherlands not you as well.
This headline looks like Hitler Ate Sugar.
I’m sad to say my country has gone full batshit crazy. And NOBODY cared about defense against russia this entire election cycle. Even the parties who call themselves anti-russia don’t want to spend anything more on national defense but the bare minimum. Might as well just hand everything over to Putin now. Wilders won’t hold you back and the rest won’t be able to.
We Europeans increasingly don’t see this as a bad sign, apparently.
That’s really scary.
Wilders taking the ‘Putin for President’ stance? He’s really leaning into those friendship pins! Wonder if he’s got a collection
Are the Dutch who voted for him happy that this makes putin and genociders from Russia so happy? Those same Russians who would take away your ability to vote on anything if they could just like they do to Russians
At this moment of life I would like to emphasize that it feels so good to not feel a european pariah anymore when it comes to the government (I’m from Poland) but at the same time I feel so sad and pity that other countries have to go through the same sh*t as us did. Stay strong Netherlands!

Putin and Wilders have nothing in common
Im Dutch and this is why i dont like the election results. Wilders has no shame in symphatising with people like Orban and Putin
They can cheat the Dutch will still support Ukraine. For 100%
Damn. Netherlands was this beacon of hope regarding help with jets transfer and training for Ukraine. Now I guess this is gone.
Feels like a huge change in political views is happening across Europe. And it somehow always ends up being pro russia…
I swear to god, we’re putting ourselves in the same position as we did during the 30s. Next thing, one of these right wing assholes will be taking pictures with Putin chanting “Peace in our time”.
Who would have thought? /s
Remember that the guy is an ass-licker of the president who organizes pogroms for gays and murders his political rivals. Not counting all the atrocities committed in Ukraine.
He called Putin a great patriot, knowing that he is a murderer of politicians and journalists.

Considering that half of the MH17 plane victims were Dutch, it’s really disgusting that the Dutch have voted for someone that has the support of their killers.
He’s tapped into a genuine concern across Europe countries..immigration needs to be controlled and curtailed. Every country has a certain finite level of resources , tolerance to immigrants and need pro rata infrastructure to be able to support. A lot of people in EU countries including my own ( ireland) , while In principle are open to immigration, are getting tired at pace of same without supporting infrastructure to integrate same . The rise of the hard right will continue unless addressed by mai stream politicians unfortunately.
To those that are worried about Russian influence, Ukraine cutbacks and a theoretical Nexit – these things ain’t gonna happen.
Dutch democracy operates on a very robust multi-party system that means that even the largest party is almost always a minority in whatever governing coalition is formed. There’s a lot of horse-trading involved in Dutch coaltion government, and since the PVV is the only party that has these policy points in their programme, they will be the first items to be negotiated away.
The enemy of my enemy of my enemy of my enemy of my enemy of my enemy of my enemy of my enemy…
